Spec.
1985 Butynol rubber roof has failed due to nails popping and penetrating the rubber from underneath, some sheets of plywood are also lifting off the rafters.
To the small sloping porch roofs fit CertainTeed Moire Black 3 Tab asphalt shingles, on #15 Felt underlay with matching Endura coloursteel drip edge.
Cut and peel off existing 1mm Black butynol membrane.
Re-screw plywood sheets with 50mm Stainless Steel self drilling and countersinking screws (30 per sheet) and punch old nails down through plywood.
At ponding area lift existing plywood, fit tapered firrings on top of framing to level out the dipped area, and reinstall plywood as before, using 50mm Stainless Steel Screws.
On completion of re-screwing, sand off any rough burrs or ridges.
Fit tapered battens to top of skylight curbs and parapets to increase slope.
Coat prepared plywood substrate with Bitumen Primer and allow to dry.
Torch 3mm thick Imper Sintoplene underlay layer to primed roof deck.
Form membrane to skylight curbs, upstands, pipes, vents, scuppers and chimneys as required.
Lap leading edge of main roof Black Mineral membrane down over the asphalt shingles at the top 90mm
To first layer torch 2nd layer, 4mm thick Imper Paralon ADRD/HS Plus Black Mineral surfaced membrane, completing details as mentioned above.
Fit 0.55 guage Endura Coloursteel cap flashings to parapets and bay window walls
