Remove existing BUR gravel surfaced roof membrane and replace with 2 layer mechanically fixed Torchon System.

tearing up the BUR on the main section of roof the BUR is very thick in the gutters
first section of main roof stripped of BUR hundreds of clout nails used to hold the BUR base sheet have to be removed
removing the old clout nails some minor timber repair work required due to warped and split boards
some detail work around the chimney base  the first section of the main roof is closed in with the base sheet/ 1st layer
the fascia removed from under the skylight windows revealing another repair attempt using a metal flashing  removing the old clout nails from the 2nd section of the main roof
the base of the skylight is cleaned up  2nd section is closed in with base sheet/1st layer
wet and windy weather halts work, loading the cap sheet rolls to the roof no work today
next fine day, nailing the base sheet in the gutter  torching in an intermediate layer in the gutters
torching in the grey mineral cap sheet to the gutter tearing off the BUR from the top of the skylight
back of the skylight cleaned off view of the skylight from the front
rollbase is applied to the top of the skylight intermediate layer is carried through in the gutter
tearing up SE section base sheet installed over SE section
overnight seal scraped back and marked edge cut back clean
cleaned up base sheet trimmed in tight
bandage strip torched in between old and new one more section to tear off
last section torn off torching the laps of the base sheet
last section closed in surround of skylight window cut back ready for removal
underlay fitted around window mineral fitted around window
old wooden window removed new aluminium window installed
nailing base sheet NE corner torching mineral to main roof area

base sheet to first section is weathered but still watertight after 2 months torching mineral in NW corner, Mt. Kaukau in the background
