G Block Roof Gutters
The Nuralite membrane is showing signs of buckling, which has resulted in some splits in the membrane. These small splits have been repaired with an Aluminium faced self adhesive tape. One or two of the repairs are peeling off at the edges. There is major buckling of the north end of the east side gutter approx 4 metres in from the end.
The ends of the gutters on the south side have been repaired with some kind of bitumen, this is slumping off, perhaps due to thet type of bitumen not being suitable for vertical applications.
These gutters were long overdue for relining, before complete failure took place.
Specification.
Waterblast the surface of the Nuralite to remove moss, leaves and dirt buildup.
Cut out the Nuralite leaving the vertical side under the metal roof in place with a 150mm lap onto the horizontal.
Prime the base and sides of the gutter with bitumen primer and allow to dry.
Apply 3mm thick Index Autotene P Base self adhesive sheet membrane to substrates, lap onto Nuralite upstand step and tuck into groove in precast parapet. Form new stop ends and dress into outlets.
Coat the tie-in of the Autotene/Nuralite overlap with Imper Elastogum fibre reinforced coating, approx 1mm thick x 100mm wide laid in 3 coats.
Coat the entire gutter areas with Imper ElastomulSB UV Resistant, solvent based coating, in 2 coats, Grey colour.
