Storm damaged BUR roof replaced hover your mouse curser over the photo for the text
On 17-18th August 2004 Wellington was hit by a storm with severe Hurricane Force winds with gusts of up to 200 km/hr.
Unfortunately the owners of this 1940's built house lost 99% of an old built up smooth coated asphalt roof during the storm. The entire roof membrane, apart from the inside edges which were held by the clay roof tiles, was stripped bare to the timber sarking.
We were called in to replace the membrane and we used a self adhesive base sheet adhered to the sarking, random nailed with clout nails for extra safety and finished with a Grey Mineral torchon cap sheet.
